Thu Aug 9, 11:02am: Typo in the time for the final exam. The exam is in the morning from 9am-11am and not in the evening.
Wed Aug 8, 9:13 am: Sun Campus Ambassador is now open.
The position as Sun Campus Ambassador is now open. It is for the
entire academic year (07-08). Responsibilities include leading the
Java Users Group and Open Solaris Users Group on campus, attend
training and give 6 demos on various Sun Microsystems's technologies.

Thu Aug 2, 2:03 pm: Study Day: Thursday Aug 9 will be a study day. Nick will be in the TA room holding office hours during the class period (9:30am-10:50 am) in case you have any questions. There will be no lecture or lab that day.
Thu Aug 2, 2:03 pm: Tomorrow Friday we will be returning the graded HW#2 and Quiz #4. Make sure you collect this graded material tomorrow. Also, make sure all your scores in grades.cs.umd.edu are correct. If you see any errors see Nick immediately. Do not wait until next week to double-check your scores.

Wed Aug 1, 12:20 am: Regarding Project #6 scores: The problem with the scores has been fixed.
Wed Aug 1, 11:39 am: Problems with CVS. If you are experiencing problems checking out projects, it may have to do with the linuxlab account password (you never changed it from the original password provided in grades.cs.umd.edu). If this is your case, change the password by using an ssh client. The F-secure ssh client seems to have a problem so if that is the client you are using first log in to wam.umd.edu using F-Secure, open a window, and then execute the ssh command (ssh -l YOUR_LINUXLAB_ACCOUNT linuxlab.csic.umd.edu) to log in and change the password.

Thu July 19, 10:49 am: We want to stress that in 132 we introduce BFS, DFS, Dijkstra's Alg., Kruskal Alg., Heaps, Binary-Search Trees and Sorting, but there is a lot more to learn about these topics (proofs involving run-time analyses, correctness, etc.) when you take 351/451.

Schedule Adjustment: June 4th until June 14th
Last day to drop with a 70% refund: June 14th
Last day to drop with a 50% refund: June 27th
Last day to drop with a 20% refund: July 10th
Last day to drop with a W: July 17th.
Last day to drop with a WW: August 10th
June 06, 11:40 am: When you check out Project #1 you should see no errors. If you see any errors then there is a problem in the Eclipse configuration. Make sure you are using java 1.5 (5.0). In addition, try to create a project and in the dialog box where you provide the project name verify whether you see a warning that says something along the lines "... with compiler compliance level 1.4 is not recommended. Configure compliance". If you see the warning, select Configure compliance and select 1.5. This should fix the problem for all your projects.
