My work spans many areas, but my core research interests are in understanding how people use social media to improve the way they interact with information. I approach this from a computer science perspective and my general research hits social networks, trust, web science, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction.

I have done a lot of working looking at how to infer information about people (like personality and political preferences) and their relationships (like trust) from social media. I'm also working on usable security, bringing HCI to the design of security and privacy systems.

My papers are best found on Google Scholar. If you can't find a PDF there of something you need, please drop me an email.
