Shanmuka Sadhu
I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park, advised by Prof. Nirupam Roy and work in the iCoSMos Lab.
Before that, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at Rutgers University. During my undergraduate degree, I started in Robotics, working in Dr. Jingjin Yu's ARC Lab on Multi-Robot Path Planning with microbots. For the Summer of 2024, I worked on computer vision detection of magnetic millimeter-scale robots at Dr. Aaron Becker's lab at the University of Houston. During the Summer of 2025, I worked on audio event recognition with Dr. Weiran Wang at the University of Iowa. During my final semester at Rutgers, I completed an independent study on quantum-inspired computing with Dr. Minsung Kim. Due to early graduation, I began working with Dr. Nirupam Roy in the Spring of 2026.
My research interests lie in Physics-Informed decision making as well as Physics-Informed geometry design. I am also interested in multimodality and multisensory reasoning.
