Visualizations For All:
Informative and Enjoyable Web-Based Visual Presentations

This web site showcases informative and entertaining web-based information visualizations that are meant for access by the general public. We do not endorse these websites; in fact many have features that we think are flawed, but this is the mixed state of current designs for web-based information visualization. However, they are good enough to criticize, and promising enough to study. We hope by drawing attention to these designs we will encourage discussion that leads to improvements as well as a more sophisticated understanding of what makes visualization effective. This is a student group project done by students in the spring 2005 University of Maryland Department of Computer Science graduate seminar on Information Visualization, taught by Ben Shneiderman. We solicit your feedback and suggested additions to:

Currently we have visualization tools for Business, Shopping, News, Music, Movie, Sports, Linguist, Web Search, Housing, Maps, Environment, medical information, Social Network and etc.
