We see a lot of content where an actor, actress, or a model comes and talk about why skills, hardwork, and attitude matters more than looks. However, aren't these the worst people to come and make this point?
Obviously, there is a huge number of good looking people and very few make it to the center stage in any of these careers. However, looks are strongly correlated with the success in any of these fields.
If we don't have anyone else in the world to make this point, I'd say we should use this set of people. However, given that there are so many professionals at the top of their fields who don't need looks, why do we have to depend on this limited number of professionals to make this point?
It almost feels like, making the point clearly was not as important as we thought.
