Thank you again for registering to attend the University of Maryland's Department of Computer Science Career & Internship Fair | Spring 2024. The event will be held in the Stamp Student Union on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. We look forward to your participation!

Please read through the following email and share it with all participating attendees, as it contains important reminders regarding the upcoming fair:

REMINDER - Shipping Fair Materials 

SHIPPING FAIR MATERIALS

Please aim to ship all items to the Department of Computer Science (Attn: Mel. Coles, Special Events Coordinator) no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024 -- close of business. Please fill out this form if you have materials you intend to ship for the Spring 2024 Computer Science Career and Internship Fair. 

Please DO NOT send freight to Stamp Student Union.

You may also return ship your packages through the Terrapin Shipping/UPS Store, located on the ground floor of the Stamp Student Union after the fair. Business hours are M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with last pick-up times at 4:30 pm for UPS Air and 4:00 p.m. for UPS Ground. You can reach the store via phone (301-314-9982) or email (store6686@theupsstore.com).

  • 11:00 a.m. | Juniors & Seniors (majoring and/or minoring in Computer Science and Immersive Media Design: Computing B.S.)
     
  • 12:00 p.m. | Computer Science Only (Undergraduates, graduates, IMD, and Alumni)
     
  • 12:30 p.m. | Lunch Available in Grand Ballroom Lounge
     
  • 3:00 p.m. | All Eligible Majors & Programs (See HERE)
     
  • 6:00 p.m. | Career Fair Ends

 

BOOTH ASSIGNMENTS

Note: Copies of the ballroom map will be available at check-in.

BOOTH SPACE & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Display space for each organization includes a 6 x 8 booth with a 6ft rectangular table, that can accommodate up to four representatives (8 reps if you have a double-booth). 2 chairs, pipe & draping, wireless access, booth signage, and a black tablecloth.

Additionally, registration includes:

  • QR Code for Handshake to track student traffic.

Please bring promotional materials for your table to distribute to students.

Change in Representatives? Each booth registration includes 4 representatives. Each additional representative is $50. If you wish to add more representatives, please email cscareerfairs@umd.edu and we will update your invoice. 

Location, Parking, and Directions 

DIRECTIONS
Given extensive campus construction, it is encouraged that guests enter the UMD Campus via Baltimore Ave (US Rt. 1) and follow Campus Drive to the Stamp Student Union for drop-off.  

*Please plan ahead and be patient regarding travel on campus, given the ongoing purple line construction and HEAVY student foot traffic during the morning hours. Navigating campus during this time will take a significant amount of time.

You may drop off your materials at the Union Lane entrance to the Stamp Student Union (across the street) before proceeding to the parking location. Volunteers will be on-site to assist you.

A parking attendant will be on location to verify your organization and gain entry into Union Lane Garage. The parking attendant will present you with a PAID parking permit to validate your parking. Once Union Lane Garage is filled, you will be directed to Regents Drive Garage---a secondary location reserved for the fair.

If the garage reaches capacity, the parking attendants will redirect you to an alternate parking location. Employers are welcome to arrive as early as 9:00 a.m. to set up before the start of the event. Those bringing fair materials may stop to drop off materials with student volunteers at the side door of the Stamp before parking.

*If you do not receive a permit from a parking attendant, you are in the wrong lot and may receive a parking citation. The Department of Computer Science does not reimburse for parking violations.* 

Payment & Cancellations

PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS
Payment & Deadline: Full payment is requested upon receipt of this invoice. You may locate the link to your invoice for the fair in the Handshake system email approving your registration. All outstanding payments are DUE IMMEDIATELY. Please follow the instructions below to remit payment. 

Cancellations: All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to the Department of Computer Science at cscareerfairs@umd.edu. Failure to cancel in writing by the cancellation deadline will leave your organization responsible for the registration fee, regardless of circumstances. The deadline to receive a full refund was Friday, February 9, 2024. No refunds will be administered.

NOTE: If you do not arrive by 2:00 pm the day of the fair and have not contacted us via email at cscareerfairs@umd.edu to make alternative arrangements, we will consider your booth forfeited and reserve the right to assign it to another exhibitor.

INSTRUCTIONS TO REMIT PAYMENT

Credit Card: Please use our secure credit card processing site for payment: https://sa-umd.nbsstore.net/career-center.

  • You will need to reference your invoice to complete the required information (Event Name, Invoice Number, and Registration amount) for payment processing. Once input, click on the "Shopping Cart" at the top of the page to navigate to the Checkout page. 
  • Once the credit card payment has been successfully processed, we will email you a statement to that effect. 
  • Within the next seven to ten business days, a second email will be sent reflecting your payment and providing you with a zero balance receipt.

Check: To submit payment via check, please pay to the order of "University of Maryland, University Career Center" and mail to Michael Martucci, 3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing, College Park, Maryland 20742.

COVID-19 Information

University of Maryland Campus Guidance: All visitors on campus are expected to abide by the UMD campus health and safety guidelines found here. Before coming to campus, you must check for common COVID-19 symptoms.

Mask Requirements: Representatives at the career fair are strongly encouraged to wear a KN95 mask. We will have a very limited supply of KN95 masks at the Employer Check-In Table for representatives who need them. 

Additional Considerations: If you must cancel your in-person fair attendance due to a COVID-19 consideration (including, but not limited to, those outlined above) please contact us directly.

If your organization requested to host on-site interviews during the Computer Science Career & Internship Fair | Spring 2024, you should receive details confirming your interview schedule from the University Career Center. Please reach out to ucc-recruiting@umd.edu  if you haven't received anything, or would like to schedule interviews.
