Here are some fun facts from visiting the National Postal Museum in DC. This is one of the lesser known Smithsonian Museums. Totally worth checking out! Also, they have free daily tours for which you can just show up without signing up (at the time of writing).
- You can post coconuts, bricks, and potatoes without packaging inside the US!
- Global Forever stamps ($1.65) can take your mail from the US to Antarctica!
- They have a pretty cool tile layout! Here is a reddit post with pictures.
