Protocol for Entry

Pre-registration is required as onsite registration will not be offered. Entry to the Fall 2025 Computer Science Career and Internship Fair will be limited to registered students from select majors and programs (see below). All eligible students may enter the fair on a first-come, first-serve basis within their group. Students will not have a time restriction at the fair.

Additional Information

  • Name Badges: Name badges will be provided at the event. Name badge pickup will not be a separate event. No badge will be issued in advance of the fair.

  • Personal Belongings:  DO NOT bring a backpack or coat as there is no storage available in the fair for student items. Any personal items brought by students CANNOT be stored, placed, or left in Stamp and must be held by the student at all times. We suggest bringing a folder with your resume to keep your materials organized and easily accessible for recruiters.

  • Eligible Majors: The Fall 2025 Computer Science Career and Internship Fair is only open to Computer Science undergraduate and graduate students, Computer Science Alumni, and current students from the programs listed above. To ensure fairness and consistency regarding eligibility requirements, the Department of Computer Science is unable to grant exceptions for majors/programs not featured on this list.

  • Letters and Sciences (LTSC): Students in Letters and Sciences (undeclared) are not eligible to attend the fair. Upon successful (future) matriculation into one of the eligible majors, you will be able to register and attend the fair. To ensure fairness and consistency regarding eligibility requirements, the Department of Computer Science is unable to grant exceptions.

  • Requests for Exemptions: For questions regarding exemptions related to religious observances, accessibility needs, or other considerations, please contact CSCareerFairs@UMD.edu for further information and assistance.

  • Expectations: Students attending the fair are expected to comply with the fair protocol set forth by the Department of Computer Science, including the entrance time assigned to their group. If you have any questions about any protocol or guideline, please email cscareerfairs@umd.edu.

  • Wait Times: Due to the popularity of this event, students may experience a wait or lines to check in or enter the fair. In all situations, the Department of Computer Science will make a good-faith effort to expedite the check-in process, minimize wait times, and ensure a positive experience for students and employers.

  • Directions: Ballroom maps will be provided to each student at check-in. In addition, signage and directions will be posted at the entry and exit doors in the Ballroom.

Location & Directions

  • Student Check-In: Hoff Theater (Ground Floor, Adjacent to Chick-fil-A)

  • Employer Exhibit Location: Grand Ballroom (1st Floor)

  • Entry to Fair: 1st Floor, Down the hall from Hoff Theater, Up the stairs or elevator by Maryland Dairy, First set of double doors.

  • Exit from Fair: 1st floor, through doors down the hall from Starbucks

Student Check-In & Entry

Student check-in for the Fall 2025 CS Career Fair will take place in Hoff Theater. Please ensure you have the following items readily available at all times:

  • University Student ID (Current Students)

  • Valid Driver's License/State-Issued ID (Computer Science Alumni)

Please have a form of identification readily available to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process.

Career Fair Schedule

  • 9:30am: Check-in for Power Hour students

  • 10am-11am Session 1: Power Hour for CS Juniors & Seniors

  • 10:30am: Check-in for CS Students

  • 11am-2pm: Session 2: CS Students

  • 1:30 pm: Check-in for All Eligible Students

  • 2pm-5pm: Session 3: Everyone including:

    • iSchool

    • ENG

    • Science Academy

    • Alumni

    • Grad School

    • CS

Statement on Accommodations & Accessibility

The Department of Computer Science is committed to creating and maintaining an accessible and inclusive fair experience for all students. Any student in need of accommodation for transportation to the fair, attend the fair, navigate the space, or talk with employers, contact the Special Events Coordinator at cscareerfairs@umd.edu and copy Accessibility and Disability Service at adsfrontdesk@umd.edu at least one week before the fair to request disability accommodations. Additionally, a volunteer will be available on-site to assist with navigation or other needs as required.

Please note that no shuttle service is scheduled for the event.

Career Fair Eligibility

Entry to the fair will be limited to registered students from the majors/programs listed below.

Session 1:

Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors with a declared Computer Science major or Immersive Media Design: Computing B.S. 

Must have completed at least 60 cumulative credits
Must have completed or enrolled in for current semester CMSC330 and/or CMSC351 
 

Session 2:

Computer Science Undergraduates (Only)

Must be declared in one of the following majors or minor:

  • Undergraduate Computer Science Majors
  • Undergraduate Computer Science Minors
  • Undergraduate Immersive Media Design: Computing B.S. Majors

 

Session 3:

Eligible Students must be declared in one of the following programs:
