Abstract

The Diamond Suit's high fidelity prototype is a combination of two user interfaces that benefits both the patients and physicians in the treatment of upper body rehabilitation.

The Diamond Suit is an upper body suit that is worn by the patient, where the suit monitors and gathers data on the user’s rehabilitation status. The data is then sent to a small wireless PDA like device where the user can view his or her own rehabilitation status. The Diamond Suit’s patient interface has the ability to help the user monitor their rehabilitation status by counting the number of reps and sets of their rehabilitation exercises. The user can also view their rehabilitation progress over a period of time through an easy to use interface. The patient interface also has a useful feature to translate into different languages such as Chinese, English, French, and Korean.

The Diamond Suit’s doctor interface is a program that aids the physicians in prescribing rehabilitation exercises to the patients wirelessly. A useful feature that the Diamond Suit’s doctor interface has is that the interface contains a list of all possible exercises for the patient to perform. Using the interface, the physician can quickly and easily prescribe the weight, rep and set amounts for the patient’s rehabilitation exercises.
