What was Implemented

Patient’s User Interface

Authentication Screen
o The user can input their password to access the Home Screen

Home Screen
o The user can click on a button to access different screens of the user interface

Current Health Condition
o The user can view their Current Heart Rate, Blood Pressure and Muscle Strength

Workout Screen
o The user can view their workout, weight, the number of reps and sets
o The user has access to the last workout and next workout

Immediate Workout Screen
o The user can select a date on the left hand side calendar and view the workout, number sets, reps and status if the exercise was completed

Workout Progress Screen
o The user can select a start date and end date and then view their progress on the right hand side of the screen as a line graph.

Setting Screen
o The user can select either to change the language of the interface, toggle between right handed users and left handed users.

Language Screen
o The user can select to change the language of the interface to Chinese, French or Korean.

Configuration Screen
o The user has the ability to connect or disconnect their wireless connection.


Doctor’s Interface

Patient Information Input Screen
o The user can input the patient’s information
o Error-checking to make sure valid values are inputted
o Required fields are clearly marked

Workout Selection Screen
o Each exercise has a description that allows the user to know what each exercise entails
o The exercise database is searchable
o Workouts can be added to the suggested workout
o Workouts can be removed from the suggested workout and re-inserted to the exercise database

o A warning screen telling the user if they are going to disconnect from the physician.


Doctor’s Interface

Workout Selection Screen
o The ability for the doctor to add an exercise that is not in the database
o The transferring of data from the doctor’s interface to the patient’s DA-like device
o A screen that can take information from the patient’s device and read data or display workout information

Recommendations to Future Developers

When concentrating on the rehabilitation value of our product, future users should think of ways to build upon the functionality that we have developed that do not change the concept, but instead increase the experience of using our product. For example, an extension to the doctor’s interface could be created that would allow the doctor to communicate with the patient’s PDA-like device at any time. Also, the same could be added to the patient’s interface, enabling communication with the doctor. This way, if there is any kind of update needed or emergency, the two devices could link wirelessly, or possibly cellularly, and take care of the issue immediately.

However, we would also like the future developers to keep in mind that other than rehabilitation patients, athletes have a great interest in our product. This is because they are serious in working out and would like to know more about their body in hopes to provide a more efficient workout plan. Also, our product can be useful to those who do not usually go to the gym. This is because when people who are new to working out, they are usually unsure about themselves. For them, if they do not see any sort of immediate result in their workout, they will quit and will choose to not workout any longer. It was suggested that our product should have the capability to measure the size of muscle width and the loss of body fat, to give their users immediate results, so they would not feel so discouraged.
