Excella Consulting Announces Creation of Student-Staffed Extension Center at University of Maryland, College Park

Excella Consulting, an Arlington VA based technology consulting firm, announced the opening of a new Extension Center on the University of Maryland, College Park campus this Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. The Extension Center at Maryland will provide high achieving computer science students from the University of Maryland an opportunity to develop their skills in .NET, Java and Python programming in a “real-world” client delivery environment. The Excella Consulting Extension Center at Maryland, staffed by senior full-time consultants and high achieving technical students provides “consistent high quality service to clients at lower cost”. “The University of Maryland was chosen as [a site for an] Excella [Extension Center] because of its location, academic rankings and the quality of its computer science (and engineering) programs,” notes a recent press release. 

“We work with students who are passionate about software development to develop their skills.  We teach our team members to build solutions, not just software,” says Margaret Archer, Extension Center Manager.
 
In addition to opening the Extension Center at Maryland, Excella Consulting was the lead sponsor of the SHE++ documentary (a documentary about women in computing) screening, panel and dinner event held in the UMCP Computer Science department on Thursday Oct. 10, 2013.
