05.02.2021 10:49 CS VPN Config Change

Due to a certificate renewel, CS users who use OpenVPN to access the CS VPN need to download updated configurations, which are available at https://helpdesk.cs.umd.edu/faq/connecting/vpn . This predominately applies to people running Linux on their home machines.

03.04.2021 11:22 Verizon Outage affecting access to campus

Verizon is experiencing routing issues, which can slow or prevent traffic from accessing CS and campus systems. You may experience issues even if you do not have Verizon internet.

02.14.2021 21:55 Windows File Server Maintanence

The CS Windows environment file servers will be undergoing brief maintanece tonight starting at 7:00pm. Some service interuption may occur.

02.14.2021 18:51 DHCP Server Upgrade - 2/11 6:30 PM

Our redundant DHCP servers will be upgraded on Thursday, February 11 at 6:30 PM. Because these services are redundant, we do not expect there to be any noticeable impact to users, however you may experience a delay creating a new VPN connection.

01.24.2021 23:40 Replacing dept authentication and DNS servers: Jan 23 8 PM to Jan 24 (all day)

Full outage of NFS services for up to one hour, including all department websites. Brief disruptions of VPN, SSH to department-managed systems. Mail forwarding, network access, grades/submit should not be affected. Changes to DNS servers for self-supported machines will be required. See email for more details.
