06.11.2026 18:02 Firewall upgrade on Sunday, June 14, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

We are going to upgrade and reboot our main firewall in AVW datacenter between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on June 14, 2026.
All web services, junkfood servers, and servers in A.V Williams building might be disconnected 2 times for at most 2 minutes.

We are having problems with our internal DNS servers. This may cause network connections to be slow to start up as queries fail over from the first configured DNS server to a working DNS server.

03.22.2018 14:10 Network Maintenance Planned - Sun. 3/18 12-5PM

Noon - 2 pm: No disruption expected.
2:00p-3:00pm: Up to four outages lasting up to 2.5 minutes for network connections going into or outside of the AVW building.
3:00pm-5:00pm: 3rd and 4th floors of AVW may experience a network disruption lasting up to 30 seconds on their office machine.

03.22.2018 14:09 Authentication System and DNS Maintenance Planned - Sun. 3/18 10AM-12PM

We will update software on a few of our servers that will cause brief disruptions in authentication and DNS services during this period.

Authentication requiring CS credentials will be impacted, including:
Logging into mail on CS servers and webmail (CS G-Suite NOT impacted)
Login to VPN service
Login to supported Linux systems

*Windows logins will not be impacted but access to shared drives may.

03.22.2018 14:08 VPN Maintenance Planned - Sun. 3/18 9-10AM

Disruption of service to the CSD VPN. There will be one brief disruption of your VPN connection during this window of time. From 10am - Noon new connections to VPN will be impacted by work on our authentication system.

01.15.2018 14:26 Planned IMAP server/Webmail outage at 2pm

We will turn off the CS IMAP email service at 2pm to install software updates on the IMAP server. IMAP email will not be accessible during this time. CS Webmail uses the IMAP server and will not be able to access email during this time. Individuals who only use CS GMail, campus mail, or another mail service will not be affected.

The process of updating software is expected to take no longer than 30 minutes.

10.02.2017 16:56 Sat. 9/30, 6am - 6pm Sun. 10/1: AVW Wings 3 & 4 Power Outage

AV Williams Bldg. Wings 3 & 4, i.e., room number like x3xx, x4xx will be impacted by a power outage that was planned and announced by campus. If your office is managed by CS IT staff and you have a machine that you would like us to power up on Monday morning, please email us.
