The NFS server will be upgraded.
During the maintenance, the following services will be disrupted:
      -CSD websites (no access to content) - www.cs and all other sites served by CS web servers

     -  "junkfood" home directory

     - Personal web pages, /fs/wwwusers

     - Class and Project directories, e.g., class web pages. fs/instruct & /fs/proj

Intermittent network outages should be expected from 8:15p through 12:30am tonight.

Between 8:15p - 10:00p there will be up to three network outages of a 10
min. duration. These outages will impact all of our services in the
building.

From 10p - 12:30am intermittent periods of up to 40 seconds of packet
loss may be expected.

10.27.2016 12:05 Sun. 10/9 Noon - 2p:CSD wiki maintenance

On Sun. (Oct. 9) between Noon - 2pm ET, we will upgrade the department's wiki software. Please do not make changes to a departmental wiki page during this period. User changes made during the maintenance window will be lost.

09.04.2016 11:42 Sun. 09/04 10AM-2PM: CSD System Maintenance

On Sunday (Sept.4) between the hours of 10:00am - 2:00pm we will update software on a few of our servers that will cause brief
disruptions in authentication and DNS services during this period.

06.21.2016 10:42 Tue. 6/14 each PDU will be down. Machines with two power supplies will be OK.

If you have a machine with a single power supply in AVW 1138 or 1144, shut it down before 7 AM.
Only one PDU should be off at a time, so department services and any other machine with dual power supplies should stay on.

06.13.2016 22:28 Thur 6/9 7:00pm - 10:00pm: CS network, procmail, junkfood maintenance

On Thursday 6/9/16 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm EST users may experience network outages due to maintenance. During the first fifteen minutes of maintenance, mail delivery via procmail and access to users' home directories on junkfood will be unavailable. Stale mounts on supported machines for users' junkfood home directories will be corrected following the outage.

06.13.2016 22:28 System maintenance Sat. 5/28 & Sun. 5/29

On Sat. 5/28 at ~11:00pm and again on Sun. 5/29 at 11:00pm we will perform system maintenance. Around these times users of "junkfood" home space & email for faculty and grad students who use the dept's older email service, procmail, may notice a disruption lasting up to 5 minutes for these services. Additional time after each outage is needed to correct stale mounts on supported machines that mount users' home directories on "junkfood".

06.09.2016 20:03 6/9 campus wifi/phone issues

There is a core routing problem within the Division of IT that is causing wifi and phone issues. They are working on resolving it now. The internal CS network seems to be unaffected.

05.23.2016 09:36 Sun. 5/22: CS Network Maintenance

On Sunday (May 22) between the hours of 1:00pm - 6:00pm we will perform
maintenance on all of our managed switches located throughout AVW.

There will be a complete network outage lasting up to 5 minutes at
approximately 1:30pm.

Between 1:30pm and 6:00pm you may notice another outage of up to 5
minutes if you are connecting through one of the floor switches in AVW
or a lab swiitch.
