01.09.2017 15:59 Tue. Dec. 27: Div of IT outage of some campus systems

Campus has announced their Disaster Recovery Testing from 7am on Tue. Dec. 27 through 7a on Wed. Dec. 28. This should not impact the CS Dept. network but may impact some campus systems you are trying to access. Campus network maintenance "will briefly interrupt network connectivity for a number of buildings across campus." The list includes AVW & CSIC. While the work is being performed, network connectivity at the building will typically be unavailable for 5-10 minutes. However, some areas will lose connectivity for up to 40 minutes. Tonight from 9:00pm - 11:59pm network maintenance may cause several periods of packet loss lasting up to 40 seconds.

11.23.2016 18:04 Tue. 11/15 5am-6am: outage of "junkfood" home directory

From 5:00am-6:00am IT staff will perform "emergency " maintenance that will require a 30 min. outage of Linux "junkfood" home space during this timeframe.

11.06.2016 23:13 Sun. 11/6 10pm-11pm: 3rd floor Network Maintenance

From 10:00p - 11:00pm, IT staff will perform maintenance on the switches on the 3rd floor. Rooms numbered 31xx or 32xx will experience disruption of service for up to 15 minutes.

11.04.2016 15:22 Maintenance partially completed, to be rescheduled

Scheduled Network Maintenance for Wed. 11/2 was only partially completed. Fourth floor (41xx ) is done although outage time was almost 30 minutes. This was resolved around 11:45 PM.
Third floor (31xx, 32xx) to be rescheduled and expected to only take 10 minutes.

From 10:00p - 11:00pm, IT staff will perform maintenance on the switches on the 3rd and 4th floors. Rooms numbered 31xx, 32xx, or 41xx will experience disruption of service for no more than 10 minutes.

11.02.2016 16:28 Thur. 10/27: CS Network Maintenance

Intermittent network outages should be expected from 8:15p through 12:30am tonight.

Between 8:15p - 10:00p there will be up to three network outages of a 10
min. duration. These outages will impact all of our services in the
building.

From 10p - 12:30am intermittent periods of up to 40 seconds of packet
loss may be expected.

On Sun. (Oct. 9) between Noon - 2pm ET, we will upgrade the department's wiki software. Please do not make changes to a departmental wiki page during this period. User changes made during the maintenance window will be lost.
